Spainish players will receive a 600,000 Euro bonus if they manage to win the World Cup, more than any other Country would pay their players! Not sure if an incentive like that is good for the game. The World Cup needs to be about National pride, not personal greed. Players shouldn't get paid for playing for their Country - its a sense of achievement and an honour to represent your National side. So that brings me on to my next point.
How much is David Beckham being paid to take Pilates classes? He can't be doing it for free - his time doesn't come cheap, he obviously wants to help and must have been rubbing his hands when Fabio asked him to tag along. A player who can't play and a coach who can't coach, so what does that make him then? Deadwood? A liability? His LA Galaxy Manager and teammates can't be too pleased - isn't he supposed to be recovering from injury?
